
I generally use Sunday for recovery and consciously skip training. I try to go on 1–2 walks in the fresh air and move around a little, but otherwise I don't push myself. Sunday is usually the only day I sleep in — or at least try to. It rarely works out, but I think that's normal at my "age".
The direct effects of nicotine withdrawal are no longer noticeable, and I think I've made it through the worst of it. Starting tomorrow, I want to focus more on my nutrition goals again.
I'm proud of myself: in the first week of the project I've already achieved something I haven't managed in years — quitting smoking without nicotine replacement products. By that I don't mean to say I'm out of the woods because of quitting smoking. No, just that I've cleared the first major hurdle.
